Gathering the benefits of forest land management

As an Alabama Cooperative Extension System Forestry Specialist and Associate Professor in the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences at Auburn University I work with the public and students to promote thoughtful management of forest resources.

Forestry-based learning opportunities abound in Alabama.  This site provides information on some of those opportunities that I have had the good fortune to be part of, and resources for your lifelong learning.

Alabama's citizens have the opportunity to make their land work for them to help meet their goals.  Whether traditional forest products, agroforestry and forest farming, or enjoying the beauty of nature; the benefits are just about endless.

Thinking about a career in Forestry and Natural Resources?  Or are you just interested in learning more about Alabama's forests?  Regardless, there are courses I teach that can meet your educational goals and interests.

After working professionally as a land manager in the forest products industry for almost 13 years, in 2007 I took my on-the-ground knowledge to the classroom.  Not a typical forester.  Not a typical educator.
